Our History

100% Made in Italy

Over a century of dedication and passion spent in the italian textile Industry

In 1897 Guido Lucchesi produced ed exported fabrics in three continents.
The following generations kept the textiles tradition alive.
In 1962 intuitition and research led towards knitting yarn as a new frontier thus Industria Italiana Filati Spa was etabilished.
It produces for the most famous Italian and international brands and groups.
In 1997 the Lucchesi family celebrated their first centenary and the prosecution of the firm.
In 2003, the “ Industria Filati Buzau SA “ has been estabilished in Romania. It is a large full process factory, that produces sewing yarns for european and international markets.
Today, with its two brands,“ Industria Italiana Filati” e “Accademia “, the company produces always innovative yarns with precious blends and fancy effects for middle and high-quality knitwear.
Knitting industrial yarn is produced in Italy, in the district of Prato.
In March 2016 we produce the first collection of yarns for weaving and jersey called TEX. In the best tradition of the Italian textile industry, research, innovation and technology, together with our many years of experience give life to a collection of yarns suitable for woolen mills that make classic and fancy fabrics.
