Press Release FW 2018 - 2019
Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only.
Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.
FALL WINTER 2018/2019
In a society where, for various reasons, doubt, uncertainty and a feeling of helplessness are becoming increasingly widespread, the Autumn Winter 2018 - 2019 collection by Industria Italiana Filati looks to the future with an approach based on meditation and subtle composure aimed at encouraging a sense of trust and balance, to create a look that is both sophisticated and informal. The pace of nature, with its pauses and silences, is a source of inspiration for a collection aimed at instilling a deep sense of humanity
The harmonious of colours comes from the natural colours of wool, alpaca and mohair fibres. The beige, warm and golden or pink-painted mélanges, and all greys, from ice to almost black.
Full colour goes back to being more real and less artificial. The primary colours are reinterpreted: red saturates and flows into burgundy hues, yellow intensifies into amber oranges and glassé, solid blue lightens becoming sky blue, encompassing all nuances or tending towards green hues and cobalt blue.
53 yarns, 2 lines, 1 single goal: to pursue and promote the value of research, quality and sustainability of our 100% “Made in Italy” product.
The mohair range, which has always made us stand out and characterised us, has been further expanded to offer the full range of gauges (from 18 to 3), of blends and of looks with more or less noticeable garment raising. The yarns are either firm or stretch & comfort.
The alpacas, an important packet of the collection, are pure or with wool, always enveloping and comforting, a symbol of simplicity and tradition.
The mélange colours emphasise their extremely pleasurable hands.
The wool resembles tweed when in blend with buttoned yarns or printed ribbons, or it is bouclé and brushed.
The most casual offers of the collection are dynamic and colourful. Faux, slightly stretch velvet, nuanced prints and haphazard striped prints, technical transparencies, 3D filler and round effects. The twists of neps, buttoned yarns and printed multifilaments become fun patterns for young garments and accessories.
For the evening: lurex on cotton or viscose, lurex in the shape of a silver yarn fur.
Sequins on elasticised mohair and on fine alpaca.
To maintain the lightness and warm feel of a garment without feeling its weight, we offer a selection of AIRY items, from the more linear ones to those with cotton insert or with a shiny and discreet appearance.
Each yarn is presented with adequate stitches, carefully designed to enhance its silhouette and encourage constant and new ideas for its application.
Industria Italiana Filati has renewed its participation in the FEEL THE YARN project, now in its 8th edition, which has proven to be a crucial occasion for collaboration between the Italian textile industry and the world of young international designers. Consorzio Promozione Filati and Pitti Immagine, with the most important Italian spinning mills, promote the competition for knitwear designers coming from prestigious fashion institutes worldwide.
This year, the theme of the competition is KNIT MIX.
Industria Italiana Filati will supply its yarns to Heidi Biedermann, a student of the Swiss Institute Hochschule Luzern.
SUSTAIN THE PLANET
GOOD ETHICS, GOOD BUSINESS
As a first result of joining the 4sustainability project, the Italian network created to support textile companies throughout their path of sustainability, we published the first Sustainability Report in which the company’s performance is illustrated and analysed. This marks another step in this project, which has the primary goal of raising awareness in the market about issues such as production chain traceability, respect for the environment, respect of human rights and respect for all living beings.
We have been sharing our Detox commitment since February 2016; along with other companies in the district of Prato, in November 2016 we established the CID, Consorzio Implementazione Detox. A challenge launched by Greenpeace with the aim to eliminate harmful substances from the textile production chain.
