3 Yarn lines

logo accademia
The ”Accademia” line aims at an accurate research of materials and a continued research into new productive technologies. All its yarns are characterized by noble fibres and different elements, from fettucce and cordonetti that recall “handmade” knits, to the goal of the infinitesimal finenesses, and they all have in common lightness and elegance. Transparent effects, showers of sequins that fall almost casually, create refined sparkles of light. Thin yarns, metal-like gauzes, micro-patterns, innovative prints and colours effects give life to the surfaces reinventing new concepts of fashion and interpreting the most modern knitwear style.

logo industria
Our “Industria” basic collection presents a range of fancy yarns for knitwear made of natural and synthetic fibres, recommended for a youthful and casual product. From a skilful amalgam of blends, gradient effects, graphic patterns, dotting, glossy-matte contrasts are born. Printed and bright texturized yarns, in a variety fibres twistings, create the polychromy of this line which achieves elegance and glamour without forgoing comfort and practicality, for women and men.

logo tex

With maximum attention to the selection of materials, technology and fashion trends, it presents a range of products suitable for every kind of style, from casual to elegant, from sporty to traditional. The timeless and thin lightweight mohair-based gauze (Indiana, Indiana 20, Texkid) available in melange and solid colours, stretch mohair (Violette) possibly with a second garment brushing process, to enhance the hair and increase the knitwear volume.

The soft and enveloping alpaca category: brushed (Mythos, Aimer) and bouclé (Volver) fabrics. Extremely pleasurable hand feels and noble mixes.

The bouclé mignon and slightly comfortable content of Diane also available in the brushed version Diane GT, perfect to be mixed in intarsia and jacquard.
Winnie is the mini bouclé with cotton, in Petra the multicolour print merges in the fibre.

This is a family of yarns that are voluminous yet light to the touch and on the skin.
The AIRY range takes its name from the particular spinning process, Flan Nm 10 and Anima Nm 2,7 look like wool felt and are ideal for raw cuts. In Artico, the wool warms an unprocessed slub cotton thread. Traditional buttoned tweed is disguised if is incorporated in the mixes: Babylon.

Desire for fur that is never traditional, always spectacular and flashy provided it is strictly fake. Siberia is silver yarn printed fur, Edwige is lurex fur. Oro and Lucille are our sequin designs on mohair and wool.

Feel the Yarn 2016

Again this year FEEL THE YARN, now in its 7th edition, is a crucial moment of collaboration between Italian spinning mills and the world of young international designers. For the 7th year in a row, Consorzio Promozione Filati and Pitti Immagine, with the most important Italian spinning mills, promote a competition for knitwear designers.

Even this year, the theme of the competition is KNITTING TIME.

Industria Italiana Filati will supply its yarns to the student Pippa Harries of the Royal College of Art, London.
